Coping Alone - A bereavement care service for the over 60s.

This new service has been introduced covering both the Fylde and Wyre areas. It responds to research by Age Concern revealing that following a bereavement  older people feel overwhelmed with loss and grief.
They would appreciate someone to talk to, who could help them contact various agencies who could assist with some of the practical and financial matters that are difficult to deal with at such times.
They quite often feel isolated by their loss and would like a regular point of contact with someone who could listen and understand their feelings.
This service will be supported by volunteers who will be appropriately trained for this rewarding type of work. The Bereavement Care Co-ordinator, Mrs Hedra Gladwell would like to hear from anyone who feels that they are a good listener, have patience and tact and can commit some spare time on a regular basis.
