New website for Wyre Seniors

The Wyre Pensioners Forum has launched a new website - Senior Wyre which aims to provide a wealth of up to date information, contacts and a forum for debate for Wyre residents and beyond!

The website is to be launched throughout October 2007 in conjunction with the launch of Wyre Borough Council's revamped website.

Tony Ward, Chair of the Pensioners Forum said:

"We have been working on the content for our new website for some time now. We wanted to get all the right partners on board so that our information is up to date and meaningful for our peers."

The website boasts a complete advice and guidance section which provides information and links to respected public, private and voluntary organisations assisting on all manner of topics including Health, Social Care, Carers Support and much much more.

Tony continued: "All members of the Pensioners Forum are 150% behind the website and even though a few of us needed some computer training to get ourselves up to scratch, all members are agreed on the fact that a website devised by local people will help so many other local people in their search for good, sound recommended information."

The website www.mywyre.co.uk/wpf is a free website provided by the council.

Mywyre.co.uk will soon be launched in its own right as a council initiative which aims to assist other local voluntary and community sector organisations make their presence known on the web. Look out for more details.
