Despite benefitiing from improvements in the standard of health care, older people still feel there is room for improvement when trying to access GP services.

North Lancs PCT is planning to increase the number of GPs available with two new dedicated GP centres as descibed by Kevin McGee at a recent meeting of the Wyre Senior forum.
The current performance of our PCT has been extracted from the last Health Care Commision report and shows varying achievements across the trust.
Following a suggestion made by the forum the trust have have responded constructively by establishing a joint task group involving professionals and patients to examine the current process of how we access a GP.

The Wyre Senior forum looked at the GP appointment system with help from Janet Bullock who is practice manager at the Thornton Practice in Thornton Cleveleys.
The older residents of Wyre and Fylde have given a thumbs up to services that effect them but flagged up areas of concern.
