Wyre Senior Forum
The purpose of the forum is to consult on current and future services provided by Lancashire County Council, Wyre Borough Council and other statutary services. It also provides a platform for voluntary and charitably funded organisations to showcase their services.
Forum members represent Wyre residents on the Lancashire 50plus Assembly and many of them are themselves active members of other organisations.
The forum is funded by Lancashire County Council.
If you are over fifty and live in Wyre then the forum is there to inform and represent you. In the last twelve months we have focussed on a range of subjects including benefit take up amongst older people, Summary Care Records, support for carers and Telecare.
The forum also has task groups that have helped pioneer a new carer support service, trialling a focused benefit take up scheme for older people and are currently starting to examine ways in which we can rebuild neighbourliness.
If you are interested in hearing about services that can help or will effect you then the regular forum meetings are held every other month throughout the year.
If you have an idea for improving a service or developing a new service then we would like to hear from you.
Why don't you join us to listen, question and bring your ideas for discussion, you will be most welcome.
