About the Forum

membersThe Wyre Pensioners Forum comprises a group of older people with administrative support from Wyre Borough Council.
All members of the forum contribute their time on a voluntary basis.
If you would like to join us or contact any of the members below please get in touch and email community@wyrebc.gov.uk.

What is our Role?

• To access information on specific services designed to benefit older people.
• To disseminate information using appropriate sources such as Parish Councils, Village Halls and the Internet and, in the process, encourage feedback.
• To liaise and build relationships with other similar organisations
• Listen to the concerns of older people and act on them where appropriate

How do we wish to be perceived?

• As an independent forum made up of individuals who work well together and act in a coordinated and cohesive manner.
• As a ginger or pressure group, but acknowledged as being positive and constructive

What do we want to achieve?

To build on past experience and aim to become more focussed on achieving positive results in a chosen number of priority subjects.

How will we achieve this?

• By receiving continual practical support from WBC with good access to service providers.
• By seeking liaison and interaction with other groups across Wyre which we could help or be helped by.
• By improving our dialogue with agencies, budget holders and political representatives.
• By publicising the Forum’s business and knowledge through the website and by seeking a dialogue with the community as a whole.
• By encouraging older people to become IT literate.
