President SI Garstang (2011-2012) Lesley RainfordSoroptimist International of Garstang is one of the 18 Clubs in the Region of North West England and the Isle of Man.

Meetings are held at the Garstang Country Hotel and Golf Club on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month (except August) at 7.30 pm. One business meeting and one social meeting takes place each month. Speakers may be invited to the social meeting or alternatively an outing may be organised. The speaker meetings cover a wide range of topics that may be of interest to Club members. A programme is issued annually to inform members well in advance.

Soroptimist International works through a network of clubs, with both national and international links, forming a global network. The first club started in Oakland, California in 1921, with the first club in the UK gaining chartered status around 1925. There are four Federations:

  • Great Britain and Ireland (including certain African countries)
  • Europe (including some of the African countries)
  • the Americas
  • South West Pacific .

By becoming a Soroptimist you join the 92,000 members of 25 different countries. Soroptimists strive for:
