About Me
I have lived on the Fylde Coast all my life, and educated at Fleetwood Grammar School. My career history began,(many many years ago !) with the Civil Service, straight from school, after which my career continued in a sales environment, including 15 years at The Gazette where amongst other things I organised The Ideal Home and Holiday exhibitions, from where some of you may already know me from. I have two grown up children, a son and daughter,of whom I'm very proud. My hobbies used to be (until a cyclist knocked me over on the pavement and wrecked my knee) horseriding, squash and badminton, going to the gym,and generally enjoying a physically active life.
Although I have only recently been elected (February 2008), I have been involved in trying to resolve a number of issues brought to my attention by residents already, whilst attending as many meetings and training sessions as possible, to equip me with the ability and knowledge to carry out my duties as a Councillor.
I became a Councillor because I decided that it wasn't good enough to sit by and do nothing, when so many problems in this country need to be addressed and rectified. If we, as Councillors in our own local areas can make an impact on problems facing constituents, of which we all care about, then together we can make a change for a safer and brighter future for everyone.
If anyone has any concerns about anything in your neighbourhood, however small, (if they are important to you, they are important to me), please don't hesitate to let me know, and I will do my utmost to help.
