About Me
Born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1947 - a very good year for wine!
Educated at Invergowrie Primary, Forfar Academy, and St. Andrew's University, and I firmly believe that I had the best (State) education that money couldn't buy! It's been a huge advantage over the years, and every pupil should be able to expect tuition of that quality, in a disciplined atmosphere!
I first came to the Fylde Coast in 1968, working as a Manager on Central Pier, then had 10 years in the Civil Service, before setting up my own Cleaning Business in 1983. Now, as well as cleaning, we sell cleaning materials and equipment, and we're also into bar & restaurant supplies. It's a living!
My Wife and I have sadly separated after 22 years of marriage, but we have between us 4 children and 5 adorable grandchildren. (The latest is Sam - pictured right - who was born in sunny California in November 2009). We moved to Thornton from Layton 17 years ago, and I love living here, and intend to stay and continue working for our Community.
I've always been interested in Politics, and I was even in the Young Conservatives at University, so it was a great thrill when I was invited to stand for election in Bourne Ward in 2007, and an even greater thrill to be elected, and subsequently re-elected in 2011.
I'm also delighted to serve on the Committee which organises the Thornton-Cleveleys Gala, a wonderful annual Event which deserves the support of everyone in our Community.
I'm Chairman of Wyre Borough Council's Rail Link Task Group, which is working with the Poulton & Wyre Railway Trust to re-open the Poulton - Fleetwood Railway. For the latest developments, see my "News" Page on this Website.
But above all, I'm here to serve YOU. If you have a problem, I'll always do my very best to help. See my "Contact" page on this Website to find me.
Thank you for visiting my Website!
