About Me

Peter GibsonI was born in Liverpool and moved to the Fylde Coast in 1973 as a manager for a pharmaceutical company. In the intervening years I have owned Ryecroft Hall in Hambleton, The Smithy at Little Eccleston and the Prontaprint Franchise in Blackpool.

I have lived in Breck Ward in Poulton for the last 10 years and was elected to Wyre Borough Council in May 2007 and re-elected in May 2011.

I joined the Cabinet in 2008 and in 2010 was elected as Leader of the Council.

As a Ward Councillor for Breck I have dealt with many issues in the past years and I am particularly concerned with the traffic problems in Poulton. I have been urging Lancashire County Council to carry out a total and radical review to sort the congestion out.

Through the Lancashire Locals Committee I have obtained funding to resurface the footpath on Riversway and am fighting to get the County Council to introduce residents only parking and restricted waiting times on certain roads.

I am a keen sportsman and in the past have played football, rugby, squash and tennis whilst presently I enjoy golf and am a member of Knott End Golf Club.
