Councillor's to Visit Police Station

Fleetwood Councillor's have been invited to Fleetwood Police Station to watch the monitors and see the CCTV in action. I think this is a wonderful idea so we can see for ourselves just how things are working and if they are working well.

We will get the opportunity to ask questions to the police and we will also meet some of the volunteer's who man the monitors. I believe there are some 50 volunteer's I these people should be thanked for they give may hours of there time to watch these monitors and it cannot be the best of jobs sat looking at the screens for hours. They are great to do this, they all have to go through training to do this so they do know what they have to look out for. I will know more when I have been on the visit.

Fleetwood have waited a long time for these and though they do not stop crime they do help a great deal and make people feel that they can walk the streets and feel some what safer.
