About Me

Born in Fleetwood in 1946.
I have lived in Fleetwood all my life except for the years of my marriage which I travelled and lived in army Quarter's. 
I have 3 sons and a granddaughter and a grandson.

My Mother's family came to Fleetwood in the 1800's and was one of the first families to come, like most of those early settler's they came from the Banks at Southport.My Grandad was born in Preston Street in the 1860's and the stories he would tell my brother and me was wonderful about him growing up in Fleetwood back then, with only one Police man. That is why I love this Town and always try my best to protect it and the people that live here. 

 
I have been interested in politics for most of my life and it was in the 1970's when I first wanted to stand for Council. But I did not get elected until 1993 after standing in elections without being successful.
Being born in Fleetwood, and my family going back to it's early days of a new town, I have always wanted what was best for the town and it's people.

I have served on the Planning Committee for many years so I am very interested in Planning.

I have been working hard for the last 3 winters to get the bridle path along by the golf course improved, it is getting done slowly, but we are getting there. I had managed to get maran grass to be planted and the greens staff from the golf course agreed to plant this grass, they planted a 1000 plants one day and the next day they went to work and they had all been pulled up. They have been planted again and are gradually growing thank goodness. There are still 2000 yet to be planted it is hoped that the country ranger with some volunteers will finish them.

I have been on the council since 1993 and have had some success in quite a few things I have worked on. But One of my best was when I chaired the seafront task group and from that so much has been achieved.I  also managed to get £ 90.000 of drainage work for our 3 playing fields in Wyre.   

If I were Prime Minister I would put back the Tax to how it was before April, this tax as it is now is making the poor people even more poor, there tax has doubled. That's not fair is it?
 
One of my great passions is my family and the other is my dog Beauty, she is my best friend she keeps me company on could winter nights.
