About Me

I was born in fleetwood and married local boy john beavers who was in the kings own royal border regiment travelling around great britain and living in various locations. 

I have 2 daughters rachel and claire and 2 grandchildren charlie and emily. I feel very blessed to have my daughters and my grandchildren.

I've always been political and was always in trouble at school for pointing out anything that I saw as a injustice. I now have sympathy for my teachers.

I have been a member of the labour party since I was 18 and in my youth campaign for CND, the miners strike and the right to work marches and was arrested and put in the cell at fleetwood for my activities in the anti poll tax campaign. 

I've been a councillor for the last five years and have found it to be not a very rewarding job but a necessary one. I feel a lot of the time it's like hitting your head against a brick wall especially as our group is the opposition and even if you know you're right morally, if the whip's on, you will be defeated no matter what you and your colleagues do.
