About Me
I was born in Blackpool and educated at Convent HCJ Preparatory School completing my Secondary education at Layton Hill Convent. I gained a Bachelor of Education degree at Leeds University and also a teaching Certificate.
The next thirty four years were spent teaching in an inner city Comprehensive School in Leeds. I retired eighteen months ago from my post as Assistant Headteacher.
Throughout this period I have returned regularly to the area and have now relocated permanently to Poulton le Fylde.
I have always been interested in politics as my family have always been politically active and this has sustained my own enthusiasm. Having enjoyed a successful career I am now in a position whereby I can help to put something back into the community.
Away from the Council I spend time working for the RSPCA a charity for which I am Honorary Branch Secretary. I am involved as a Trustee and assist in fundraising, home visiting for people who wish to adopt a dog and working one day a week in the RSPCA Charity Shop in Talbot Rd.
My main interest is travel and I have been very fortunate in that I have done this extensively visiting all the continents. The USA is a particular favourite and I enjoy annual trips to Las Vegas and New York.
